Using homemade flesh colored salt dough with loose parts the children made people while we discussed diversity. Diversity means we are all different. What are some ways that we are different? “Our eyes are different colors!” We look different. People have different skin colors, eye color, hair color, it can be short or long. Some of us are boys and some of us are girls. Is this the only way that we are different, how we look? “NO!!!” We are different in the way that we think, believe, and live. Remember when we learned about China and Italy? They speak different languages and eat different foods, that is a part of what we call culture. Imagine if we were all the same, wouldn’t that be boring? Diversity is important because it makes life interesting and allows us opportunities to learn from each other and grow to become better people who are kind. When we are kind to each other we are all happier and that makes the world a better place for all of us. #martinlutherkingjrday #diversity #saltdough #preschool #homeschool #unschool
