Martin Luther King III, Jeffrey Wright, and Susan Sarandon at the The ‘Realizing the Dream’ Martin Luther King Jr. Tribute – January 15, 2006 at Riverside Church in New York City, New York.
History textbooks make it look like social injustice is no longer a problem because of how The Civil War and Civil Right movement played out, but social injustice still exists today. People of color still face discrimination in the workplace, in school, by health care professionals, and by law enforcement. These stressors are so terrible that they lead to poverty, depression, disease, poor access to health care, and increased risk of preterm birth. Being aware of the issues is a great start to being social inequality. For those who do have the privilege, higher education will provide a lot of information. It is also important to spread information on the issues and do what you can within your power to implement that change. To conclude, race is a social construct with pseudoscience backing. #martinlutherkingjrday #socialjustice #thefightisntover #timesupnow #martinlutherkingiii #jeffreywright #susansarandon #realizingthedream
